Bio

My story begins in a small South Texas town where the race lines are drawn hard, not soft and in concrete not sand.  My mother is a radical activist in the 70s (as radical as you can be in a small town amongst the debutantes and panaderias).  I spend many hours of my childhood with my ear pressed against the door of my room listening to her and her compadres plot the overthrow of the local government.  And this is but one example of my incredibly surreal life.  My family was made for reality TV.

Growing up in a stiflingly strict Mexican-American family of all women (with one super quiet dad), who are all at once radical, magnificent, formidable and mystical has made my personal life story like a Mexican TV novella, full of high emotion, amazing plot twists and sometimes a bit (ok, a lot) of melodrama!    Inspired by the women in my life, I am an activist, a radical, an artist, and a strong Mexicana.

I make my living by day as a super high-end techno geek with bits and bytes running through my head.  It doesn’t feed my soul, but it pays the bills.  And truthfully I am a gadget girl in love with all things related to electronica.  My soul however, is fed by the people in my life, the experiences I have had, music, nightlife, activism, art, and above all that love.

I am very fortunate to be part of an amazing group of women called the Femme Collective.  We are starting to plan for Femme2010 next year in in Atlanta.  I really hope you can make it! I cannot wait to get my Femme fix.  There is nothing, NOTHING, like being surrounded by Femmes.  I am currently co-producing BLISS - An Oasis for Women of Color in the Desert. A weekend for gay women of color in Palm Springs. This is the first year of what we plan to be a yearly event. We are very excited! I also own and operate Butch-Femme.com

This tiny piece of cyberlandia is a reflection of me, of what I think is important or not in my world.  Each category is simply one small part of my greater life both online and in real-time.
